Scandinavian Recipes

One of the most unique things about the Scandinavian culture is the wonderful variety of different foods that it has to offer. The Scandinavian's love of nature is well known and it is reflected in their cooking by their choice of simple, delicious and nutritious food. Here we have provided a selection of recipes from the different Scandinavian countries and although some are more well known than others, they are all delicious and easy to prepare. We hope that you will try them out at home and see what Scandinavian food has to offer.

If you like these recipes and would like to get more of them, the Society has prepared an excellent cookbook called "Vikings in the Kitchen". We have also provided a page of links to some excellent sites that feature recipes from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Finding a Scandinavian cookbook isn't the easiest thing in the world so we have reviewed some of the various cookbooks on the market and can tell you where you can buy them. Last, but certainly not least, we have also included a page of personal favourites.
