The Nordic Countries

  • The Canadian Nordic Society celebrates the links and common interests between Canada and the Nordic countries: Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. For almost 40 years the CNS has provided opportunities to share, learn about and celebrate Nordic culture and history and Canada's Nordic connections.

  • The Consulate of Finland in Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario.

  • Suomen Eduskunta - The Finnish Parliament

  • FinnishCanadian.com have a good site that lists the various Finnish clubs and organizations that exist in Canada and their contact details.

  • The Canadian Friends of Finland provides a network of contacts among Canadians interested in Finland and its mission is to help strengthen and enrich the relations between the two nations at the levels of individuals, and of social, cultural and educational groups.

Iceland

  • The Government of Iceland site provides links to all of its various Ministries.

  • The Embassy of Iceland

  • The Icelandic National League of North America was formed in 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has played a leading role in most public spirited and cultural activities among the Icelandic people in Canada and the United States of America.

  • The Icelandic Canadian Club of British Columbia is one of the largest Icelandic clubs in North America with a membership of about 450 persons of all ages and a cultural center located in New Westminster, B.C.

  • The Icelandic Memorial Society of Nova Scotia was incorporated to educate the public about Nova Scotia's Icelandic past. By sharing the history of the Icelandic settlers in Nova Scotia during the late 1800's, they hope to assist and encourage their descendents and others to preserve this part of Nova Scotia's heritage.

  • The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba (Islendingadagurinn) takes place every year in Gimli, Manitoba.

  • Samkoma - "the Meeting Place" for Icelandic and Western Icelandic connections. This site is designed to be a reference point for Icelandic/Canadian/US web links and information and serves as a meeting place for the growing Icelandic cyber community.
