St. Lucia celebration
In Public

The Scandinavian Society of Nova Scotia encourages members and their guests to participate in some of our traditional cultural activities throughout the year. One of those activities is to celebrate St. Lucia as close to “Lucia Day” (December 13)  as possible.  This year the celebration will take place on December 11 when girls and boys, young and old, dress up in white gowns and carry lit candles while singing traditional Lucia songs.

This year we will be holding St. Lucia at the Alderney Gate Library.  There is no entrance charge for this event. We would, however, appreciate donations of your favourite traditional Scandinavian cookies which will be served with coffee, tea and juice provided by the Society.

Parking in the Dartmouth Ferry parking lot is free on weekends and finding a spot to park should not present a problem.

Please note:  Although there is no charge for this event, we do require notification and confirmation of attendance.   Please respond to Scandinavian Society email.
